So you've booked yourself a photo session but now you're stuck with what to wear. Read along here to find out the Do's and Dont's of styling yourself and your loved ones for your photo shoot.
When planning your outfit what might come to mind is matching. Matching t-shirts and denim, everyone in one colour.... This is a Don't. Matching outfits may be cute for the kiddies but for everyone, it just does not work. Also stay away from bright and fluorescent colours, these never look nice and can throw colour onto your skin tone that doesn't look pretty. Large logos on shirts should also be avoided. Now for the feet, thongs may be comfy when you're just hanging out at home but for your photo session opt for some nicer footwear.
Here are some examples of what works well and will have your family photos looking the best. Choosing a colour palettes a great idea, this is a range of colours that compliment each other and work beautifully in photos. By everyone wearing tones that work together the clothes will compliment each other and make your photos more dynamic and pleasing to the eye. Think neutrals, earthy tones, warm colours.
To simplify here is an example for the men & boys: Tan chinos, dress shoes, neutral colour button up shirt.
Women & girls: A dress that flows, choose a material that doesn't cling to your body, something that isn't skin tight. Neutral colours and tones, nothing with a bold or large print. Avoid wearing high heels, a nice dress shoe or sandal works best especially if we are doing a lot of walking through paddocks.
Babies & Toddlers: Dress your little ones in neutral colours, the above examples for boy and girls are excellent. IF your little one is wearing a dress opt for a nappy cover to help cover the nappy.

Wallet
Hats & Sunglasses
Watch
Hair ties on your wrist, don't forget to take these off!
